A recent report from Sask Lotteries has revealed that good fortune has befallen the residents of Moose Jaw.

Wayne Gramracy is the newest mega winner from the region after he won a $1 million lottery prize with a ticket purchased at the Shoppers Drug Mart at 428 Lillooet St. West.

After returning to check his Lotto 6-49 ticket at the same store on the day following the September 11 draw, Gramracy admitted that he had to repeatedly recheck the ticket out of disbelief.

He was quoted in a press release as saying,

At first, I couldn’t count all the zeroes, I had to scan the ticket maybe five or six times before I could count them all.”

When pressed for his plans for the cash, he was quite pragmatic.

I do need a new truck, I’ll put some of the money into investments for the future. The rest is spending money,” he said

The lucky numbers that Gramracy matched exactly for the draw were 2 4 1 9 8 3 8 1-5.

Moose Jaw has seen its fair share of winning this year. A lucky Lotto Max ticket winner, David Danchilla, claimed $411,859 from a ticket purchased from the 7-Eleven at 1210 13th Ave. NW.
