The world’s biggest Opera - The Phantom of the Opera Coming to Microgaming

The popular and well known online casino software provider, Microgaming, has just signed a deal with The Really Useful group. This licensing agreement has been signed to build an online slot which will be based on a movie. The Online slot developed by Microgaming, which is due to be released later this year will be based on the 2004 version of the famous musical The Phantom of the Opera. This movie, which was a successful adaptation of the 1986 movie with the very same name is said to have grossed over a whopping $154 million worldwide.

According to David Reynolds, a senior games publisher at the company, “The game has seen unequivocal success and has been played by over 140 million people across the globe.” He added, “It is rather exciting for all of us at Microgaming to be working with a musical which is a new genre at Microgaming. The slot that is due to release in the third quarter of the year will be broadening our wide portfolio of games and will be a tribute and celebration of the world’s most popular opera ever.”

This musical that is said to have been inspired by an equally famous French novel was written by French author and novelist Gaston Leroux. The slot is about the Phantom who hides beneath the Paris Opera House and is feared by all. However, the love he holds for his beloved Christine Daaé is pure and so strong that even the beautiful protégée’s heart cannot resist.
