A Prince Albert resident who has won a jackpot prize from a Lotto 6/49 draw has plans to share the windfall with her family.
As Marylou Lovell was checking the Feb. 19 Lotto 6/49 draw results, she saw five of her numbers match on the screen.
A Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) news release detailed how Lovell verified her numbers online and noticed that someone from Saskatchewan was a winner.
Lovell revealed that at the time she had thought, "Oh, that’s good," before it gradually dawned on her that that same winning ticket was in her hands.
Still somewhat dazed, Lovell immediately informed her family.
“I called my daughter right away to see if I was right, there was a lot of excitement," she was quoted as saying in the news release.
The family revealed that they all play together when the jackpot is high and Lovell herself shared that she is planning a holiday with some of the money.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Giant Tiger in the 200 block of 32nd Street West in Prince Albert.
Winning Streak
Saskatchewan has had its fair share of big-prize lottery winners in recent months. Kelly Remenda from Hepburn claimed an impressive $100 000 win on March 30, 2022, with a ticket purchased from the Lotto Spot! app, and Ernie Anuik from Yorkton landed a massive $20 million jackpot from the Lotto Max draw on February 15, 2022.
The spring 2022 Saskatoon Hospital Home Lottery also created a major winner recently with the $2.3 million grand prize show-home going to Colin McIntosh of Maidstone with a $50 000 cash kicker.
