A woman in South Okanagan got a pleasant shock after discovering she had won $50,000 from a scratch-and-win lottery ticket.
Sharon Dennison from Osoyoos had bought the Bingo Blast ticket from the local convenience store on Main Street and innocently decided to scratch away at it on the way home.
Dennison recalled her excitement at the unexpected win and the following events, saying, “I was like ‘I have 4 corners, I have 4 corners! I went to 7-Eleven and handed the ticket to the retailer. When they scanned it, the machine made a big noise and the amount popped up on the screen. I was so shocked I almost fell over!”
Dennison said that she normally spends her winters in Belize, and usually plays Sunday Bingo there, but the allure of Bingo Blast proved too much to resist.
Her win of $50,000 is the game’s top prize and the lucky prize winner is still bathing in the glow of excitement with nothing yet planned just yet for her prize money.
