Red Rake’s Nordic Battler
Red Rake Gaming thrusts you into the midst of an epic battle as Vikings and Kings clash in the new Vikings Journey online slot.
The 5×4 reel, 178 payline game Back the Vikings up and best the king with wilds and a coin-chasing mini-game.
When wild symbols appear, they shift across the reels, generating respins with each successive spin, and If 3 or more King symbols land, all other positions will respin.
When the Viking and King symbols meet on the reels, an attack is initiated, and wild symbols are left in the wake of the clash.
One of the best parts of the game is the King’s Coins minigame, which activates when the progress bar to the side of the reels fills up. You begin the minigame with 3 coins locked in place and 3 respins. If any additional coins land, they will also become sticky and reset the respin count to 3 spins. The Viking Multiplier symbol boosts your coins’ values during the mini-game for increased winning potential.
Pragmatic’s Classic Fascination
Pragmatic Play looks to the past for inspiration with the introduction of its new Vegas-inspired Fire Hot slot series.
The retro-themed collection comprises four games boasting varying numbers of pay lines. The new titles are named Fire Hot 5, Fire Hot 20, Fire Hot 40, and Fire Hot 100, with the numbers in the names corresponding to the number of paylines that each one offers.
All the games feature classic fruit machine symbols, including apples, oranges, cherries, grapes, lemons, and watermelons, encased in basic reels against a plain backdrop. Wins of up to 2700x are achievable available across all the games, as well as Clover wilds, which substitute for all regular symbols. Golden dollar signs are scatters that pay out from any position and offer rewards worth up to 100x your stake.
Irina Cornides, the Chief Operating Officer at Pragmatic Play, said,
“Turning back the clock to deliver a nostalgia-inducing experience, the Fire Hot™ series combines innovative technology with a classic aesthetic to engage players from all demographics. Crazy Cupholder Cash
Chris Leggatt, from Schomberg, Ontario found something much better than a warm drink in his car’s cupholder.
The 46-year-old, who says he’s been playing the lottery regularly for the past two decades without much luck, immediately checked his OLG app when he realized a possible winner had been sitting in his car. It was a good instinct to follow because he soon discovered that he was due $70,828.60 for a second prize Lotto Max win.
“My colleague heard the Big Winner sound and said, ‘Are we rich?’ I showed him the screen and said, I don’t know about you, but I am,” Leggatt recalled.
Leggatt shared his celebratory mood the next day when he treated his colleagues to coffee.
“I felt disbelief at first but it feels official now that I’m receiving the cheque,” he said when collecting his winnings.
Leggatt also revealed that he intends to put the money towards some home improvements and a luxury beach getaway in the winter.
No Plans Yet for New Multimillionaire
Many of us have never won a huge amount on the lottery, but we’d already know what we’d do with a small fortune. The same cannot be said for Edmonton resident Pritpal Chahal, who won $17,183,706.90 from the July 30 Lotto 6/49 draw.
Chahal made the discovery when he checked his ticket at a local store and was immediately flabbergasted.
“I was confused and in disbelief. At first, I needed to count the numbers.” Chahal recalled in a Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) news release.
It took eight scans in total to convince the bewildered winner that he was truly the owner of a small fortune. As mentioned, before, Chahal does not have any immediate plans for the sudden influx of cash.
“I am a simple man; I live life peacefully,” he said.

PlayAlberta’s Creepy, Spoofy Warning
Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) has a new ad campaign for its PlayAlberta platform, named, “A Better Way To Play.” The public initiative is geared toward warning gamblers in the province against engaging with unlicensed operators and employs hilarious parodies of a trio of iconic horror films, namely, Scream (1996), The Shining (1980), and The Warriors (1979).
The horror-themed shorts show the protagonists battling evil forces, but eventually emerging victorious by using PlayAlberta’s services.,
According to an AGLC spokesperson, the campaign employs humour and silliness to get a much more serious message across.
“With the horror movie parodies, AGLC is reminding Albertans that unauthorized online gambling websites can be scary and c put your personal identities, as well as your money and payouts at risk,” they said.
The campaign was developed by Mark Lovely, the creative director at McCann Calgary, and is set to run until spring 2023.
The Crown corporation’s spokesperson added to their statement, revealing what other initiatives the AGLC has in store, saying,
“With the peak of the sports calendar approaching, Play Alberta will also be unveiling a new campaign focused on promoting the sports betting component of Play Alberta, reminding legal-aged Albertans of the safe, secure, and local option available to them.”
