John Lloyd, a 45-year-old Oro-Medonte resident recently took home a huge prize when he won $243,296.70 in a Lotto Max second prize draw on July 16.

The 45-year-old dad and grandfather-to-be explained that he only decided to buy a lotto ticket when he saw someone in front of him in a queue do the same.

I was sitting in my truck when I remembered the ticket in my center console. I used the OLG Lottery App, and when I saw ‘big winner,’ I was shocked,” John recalled when quizzed about how he discovered his win.

He described how his hands shook when he held up his phone to show his girlfriend and daughter the wonderful surprise.

I don’t think the excitement will set in until the cheque clears the bank. I’ve been wanting to buy property up north for a while and have been working toward that. This win gets me there faster and with a bigger budget,” he revealed.

John purchased his winning ticket at the Oro Station General Store on Line 7 in Oro-Medonte. Read about another winner who double checked their $100k win on the OLG Lotttery App.
