Alicia Saunby, 22, from Fenelon Falls, Ontario says that she isn’t a regular lottery player by any means, but a randomly inspired purchase of an Encore ticket saw her match six of seven numbers in the correct order to win $100,000 from the July 13 Lotto Max draw. She also claimed $20 and $2, on other Lotto Max and Encore tickets, bringing her total to $100,022. OLG recently announced a deal with AGS, an innovative developer, manufacturer, and supplier of casino games, that brings more content to the OLG Online platform.
Saunby admits that she purchased her $1 tickets as a “fluke” at Convenience 121 on Lindsay St. in Fenelon Falls.
“I couldn’t pay for gas at the pump, so I went inside the store and ended up purchasing a ticket when I saw the jackpot was at $70 million,” she recalled.
Saunby checked her ticket on the OLG lottery app a few days after the draw and was instantly shocked and delighted.
“I saw ‘Big Winner’ and my jaw dropped I was so shocked, I showed my mom right away. She’s an educational assistant and was in an online class. She told her class her daughter won the lottery and she had to go,” she said.
Saunby, who describes herself as a voracious reader and animal enthusiast, also appears to have a generous heart as she plans to settle some bills and treat her family and friends with the unexpected windfall.
“I would love to take my family on a trip for Christmas,” she smiled.
The Lotto Max jackpot has changed a few lives for the better this July with two other huge wins of $613k and $1 million recently awarded.
