The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) recently revealed that a construction worker from Sydney is the winner of a multimillion-dollar prize from an instant scratch ticket. Glenn Weitz from Windsor won a mind-blowing $3 million from his Triple Millions ticket purchase.

Triple Million scratch-off tickets sell for $30 and consist of four game areas. Players can claim the $3 million top prize by uncovering three identical prize amounts in three of the areas, whereas the “Lucky Numbers” fourth area can match the player’s numbers.

Double-Take

Weitz took some time to share his experience when he arrived at an OLG office to collect his prize. He stated that as a regular lotto player, he normally plays the Crown’s Poker LOTTO All In. Following a $100 win from this game, he used some of the prize money to purchase a Triple Million ticket, which led to his life-changing windfall.

The bemused winner also shared that he had been sitting in his truck after buying the ticket at the MS Lakeshore Convenience on County Road 22 in Emeryville when he discovered his amazing luck. Weitz recalled that he was in a state of disbelief upon seeing the matching numbers and that he had had to re-count the zeroes several times.

He then ran back into the store and even began celebrating with the clerk after confirming the results of the ticket, with other customers in the store also joining in congratulating him. Weitz added that he is enthused about the huge lotto win and intends to invest the bulk of the money.

This latest win is the largest this year for the Windsor-Essex region and the last top Triple Millions prize in Ontario for 2021.

OLGs’ Offering

The OLG began 2021 by launching a new scratch game named INSTANT PLINKO, based on the popular game show, The Price is Right. This game offers potential winnings of up to $500,000 in cash.
