On Monday, the B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC) confirmed the closure of all bingo spaces, land-based casinos, and social gaming arenas.

Monday 11.59 PM was set by BCLC for the shutting down of all venues with resumption depending upon the government’s advice when it is appropriate to do so.

Great Canadian Gaming confirmed on Sunday its intention to close down all 10 of its casinos in B.C. in a bid to restrict the spread of the highly infectious Coronavirus strain.

In compliance with the BCLC, the provincial gaming federation, Great Canadian, stated that its temporary shutdowns would be effective from Sunday 11.59 PM.

A statement by the company read: “Though there have not been any cases related to the Coronavirus at the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, the steps taken are in line with the measures being adopted for restricting the spread of the virus.”
