Inspired Entertainment is the latest in a string of major iGaming developers to receive a gaming-related supplier license from Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO). The provider intends to launch its catalogue to the province’s new iGaming market in the second quarter of 2022.
The license gives Inspired the freedom to market its content to AGCO-approved operators in Ontario. Twenty five of the developer’s games will be certified in time for the launch of the market. These will include titles like Big Spin Bonus, Big Fishing Fortune, and Space Invaders.
This development expands Inspired’s existing presence in the region, with the company already having an established partnership with Loto-Québec that currently features Inspired’s content on its online platform.
Claire Osborne, the VP of Interactive at Inspired said,
“Ontario’s iGaming market officially opens to licensed operators on April 4, 2022, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the newly regulated iGaming market. With a population of nearly 15 million people, Ontario’s demographics compare favourably to states like New Jersey or Michigan where we already operate. We expect Ontario to present a significant market opportunity for us, and we look forward to players in Ontario enjoying our games.”
Change on the Horizon
With the launch of Ontario’s online gaming market rapidly approaching, the province’s regulator has warned operators applying for a license that unregulated activities will not be tolerated when the market opens on April 4, 2022.
The new inductees to the soon-to-be-launched market include Bet365, Penn National Gaming’s subsidiary theScore Bet, Rivalry Corp, PointsBet, FansUnite and Rush Street Interactive. WSOP/GGPoker and 888 are officially the province’s first two approved poker operators with LeoVegas and Play'n GO also recently joining the party.
iGaming Ontario (IGO) and the AGCO have collaborated to create and manage a new online marketplace that will provide a safe, varied, and regulated environment for consumers
The Canadian Gaming Association (CGA) recently revealed that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the International Betting Integrity Association. This agreement establishes a cooperation and coordination framework between the entities, encompassing integrity-related issues and the protection of Ontarians and the wider Canadian market.
