GiG Joins Playtech's iPoker to Improve Platform Offering

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), the online gambling company, announced that it has successfully integrated Playtech's iPoker to its platform. This integration would allow it to further grow the online gaming offering that GiG offers the partners present in its network.

Playtech's iPoker is made up of an online poker network that consists of tens of thousands of players from various countries in the world. The rooms present in this network function in the most regulated market that allows online poker tournaments to be conducted.

GiG mentioned that a partnership with Playtech and the addition of iPoker to its iGaming platform is going to allow its clients to access one of the biggest poker networks in the world. With the establishment of this partnership, GiG's operator partners will get access to a huge selection of games. This selection includes games such as Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 6-Plus Hold'em, and Sit'N'Gos. They will also get access to a range of table stakes as well as tournament buy-ins. iPoker's offering can be accessed on the web, iOS, and Android clients through HTML5.

GiG CCO, Ben Clemes, talked about this development and said that GiG is excited that it has entered the online poker vertical through this partnership with Playtech. He further added that with the addition of iPoker to GiG network, the partners of GiG would be able to provide a better poker experience to their player base.

Along with the integration, GiG also added its microservices in an effort to scale and integrate with other poker providers in the future. This feature would allow the GiG's clients to have more flexibility and choice.

The Recent Activity

On being asked about Playtech's partnership with GiG, Playtech COO, Shimon Akad, said that Playtech is happy to welcome GiG on their iPoker network. He also mentioned that after investing heavily in a new online poker web client along with a new poker app and downloadable poker client, Playtech and GiG, together, can provide operators access to a flexible platform and an evergrowing network.

Mr. Akad also mentioned that GiG is an important strategic partner for Playtech, and the two companies are excited to work together with the online gambling group and bring out industry-leading technology to this sector.

In the past few weeks, the iPoker has witnessed lots of activity. The majority of 16 poker rooms that were active on MPN transitioned, namely to Playtech's poker network. MPN Microgaming's long-lasting poker network stopped functioning on 16th May.

As discussed, it ran 16 online poker networks, three of them were closed down last year as Microgaming revealed that MPN is to be closed permanently. The remaining 13 networks operated for another year before shutting down a few weeks ago. Nine out of these thirteen networks made a switch to iPoker.

Recently, the Swedish online gambling group Enlabs AB announced that it had parted ways with GG Network. Enlabs AB would now be migrating its poker offerings to iPoker. This migration would happen during this year's summer.​
