Hippodrome – Popular London Casino to host the 2017 European Dealer Championships

Yes, the EDC- European Dealer Championship is coming to London for the very first time this May in a rather hotly awaited contest that is set to take place at none other than, The Hippodrome Casino at Leicester Square.

Between 8th and 10th May, the casino will see close to 33 of Europe’s talented croupiers coming from 21 different countries display their skills in Blackjack and American Roulette, in a feisty knock out competition that has been specially designed to pit the contestants against each other and test their flair as well as expertise.

The EDC as a platform has the biggest casino operators to compete and showcase their talent in these games. Stuart Mc Callum one of the contestants and a croupier from Les Ambassadeurs, said: “I am thoroughly thrilled to be representing the UK, and am glad the championship is being held on home soil this year.”

31 judges from close to 21 countries will be overseeing the competition and judging three main categories- hospitality, technical skill, and game control.

Activities such as best chipper, best pushing stacks, best cutting chips, best card handler, and best mathematician will also be held. CEO of the National Casino Forum, Tracy Damestani, said that these elements combined with each other are “an art form, and no less than a piece of theatre. Just watching these talented men and women perform will be fun and entertaining.”

This exciting event is being organized by the European Casino Association in alliance with the National Casino Forum that represents all of the many land-based casino operators in the United Kingdom.

The Round one is set to begin at sharp 17.15 on 9 May and resume again at 12.10 on 10 May. The semi-finals is charted to begin at 16.00 on 10 May.
