If you love online gambling and especially for live events, then you've probably already heard of Bet365. This is one of the world's largest online gaming groups and it boasts some seven millions customers that span over two hundred different countries. Bet365 is the largest private employer in Stoke-on-Trent in the UK, with some 2100 people working for their offices in the first decade of the 2000s.

Denise Coates began Bet365 in 2000 by designing a sports betting online platform, and then created a team that allowed her to trade the business online. They borrowed £15 million against the Coates' family betting shop chain, which they sold in 2005 for £40 million in order to pay off the loan. Now Bet365 is known as one of the world's largest online gaming platforms and figures from March of 2012 report that some £12.2 billion was wagered that year, giving the company revenues of £646 million and a profit of over £116 million.

The business was praised by the city's MP Tristram Hunt for employing so many locally and, as he said in one interview, for being one of the few gambling businesses to actually pay its taxes in the UK!
